Dedicated and experienced outreach professional with a background in crisis intervention, shelter placement, and social services. Skilled in conducting assessments, de-escalating crises, and coordinating with law enforcement, medical personnel, and city agencies to provide support for unhoused individuals. Trained in CPR, Narcan administration, and nonviolent crisis intervention.As a Transit Outreach Specialist with BRC’s Bowery Residence Committee, I work overnight shifts to engage with and assist unhoused individuals across NYC’s transit system. My role involves deploying to designated subway stations from 12 AM to 5 AM, where I assess individuals in need, coordinate shelter placements, and ensure safe transport to appropriate facilities.
I collaborate closely with MTA personnel, TSS, Analysts, NYPD sergeants and captains, and medical professionals to ensure safety and proper intervention. My responsibilities include:
• Conducting on-the-spot assessments for mental health, substance use, medical needs, and legal status.
• Arranging shelter placements and facilitating transportation, whether by outreach van, ambulance, or other means.
• Utilizing crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate situations and prevent harm to individuals and the public.
• Administering life-saving interventions such as CPR and Narcan in overdose cases.
• Maintaining detailed documentation in both the DHS and company systems, ensuring accurate reporting of engagements and placements.​​​​
